Meet the Team

Erin has more than 30 years of public accounting experience. She specializes in business, personal, and estate taxation and planning. Erin leverages tax strategies to promote business and personal tax planning to help her clients achieve their goals.
Erin specializes in serving physicians and dentists, manufacturing and distribution businesses and their owners, and real estate investors and developers.

Erin graduated from California State University in 1979 and received her Master’s in Taxation from Golden Gate University in 2002. She has taught classes for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Western Washington University, California State University – Chico, and Whatcom Community College.

Ashley is the team’s Office Manager & Coordinator Of Awesome. A young professional with a passion for helping others, she was awarded her Bachelor’s in Sociology from Western Washington University in 2016.

With her background in social work case management, she is adept at making sure the firm has the p’s and q’s of projects, processes, and people properly sorted. She also has quite the talent for tech! When not in the office, Ashley loves to explore the local trails of Whatcom County.

Mark, our marketing specialist, holds a BA from Washington State University and an MM from Western Washington University. He was the Orchestra Director at Bellingham High School from 1970 until his retirement in 2010. During Mark’s 40-year tenure, string music participation increased dramatically district-wide.

With his marketing abilities, Mark was able to arrange annual concert tours for his orchestras; most notably were performances at Expo ’86 in Vancouver, BC, three concert tours to Japan, and one to Chile. In 2006, Mark was named Washington’s “School Orchestra Director of the Year” and was also inducted into the Washington Music Educators “Hall of Fame.”

Now, Mark not only works with Erin and Ashley at Erin Schlichting CPA, but he continues to help with string music in the schools and the community, and he also enjoys performing with several local music groups.
